Your pest management consultant, on retainer
An independent pest management consultant on a monthly retainer. Your questions get answered as they come up, problems are worked through with you, and your programme is reviewed on a regular cycle so it stays audit-ready. PVS Advisory runs it in English or Arabic.
Led by Juan Rodriguez, Board Certified Entomologist, MSc Entomology, with 18+ years in GCC pest management. Every plan is a 12-month engagement, billed monthly.
Most technical questions arrive between projects
A project has a start and an end. The questions that cost an operator money tend to turn up in between: a non-conformance raised at an audit, an insect a technician cannot identify, a client asking why the problem came back, a tender clause nobody is sure how to price.
Answered the same day, most of these take a short conversation. Left for a week, they become a lost contract, a repeat finding or a treatment that was never going to work. A retainer puts an entomologist on the other end of the phone for exactly those moments.
It also means an independent IPM consultant looks at the programme on a regular cycle. Standards drift slowly, and a monthly review catches the drift while it is still cheap to correct.
Signs a retainer fits
- You save technical questions up for the next project
- Audit findings keep landing on the same points
- Your team has no specialist to escalate to
- Clients or auditors ask questions that are hard to answer
- You need senior input regularly, but a full-time hire is more than the work justifies

Retainer support alongside defined projects
Some work is too large for a message thread. Writing a full procedure set is SOP development. An independent assessment of a contractor or a crew is a technical audit. A tender specification is a scope of work. Those run as separate projects with their own scope and fee.
A good point to start a retainer is when a project has just been delivered. The SOPs are written or the audit is closed, and the retainer is how the standard holds afterwards: questions about the new procedures get answered, and the monthly review shows whether they are being followed.
Where the review shows a skills gap in the field, team training can be scoped from what the retainer has already uncovered.
The kind of question it covers
- What is this insect, and does it matter?
- How should we respond to this audit finding?
- Is our contractor’s service report good enough?
- Can this treatment go ahead with the site occupied?
- What should this tender clause actually require?
Four kinds of client it suits
Food manufacturing
Plants and stores that need food safety pest control audit support for BRCGS, FSSC 22000 and AIB audits, and for SFDA and municipal inspections. See food manufacturing.
Facilities and healthcare
Hotels, hospitals and building portfolios that manage a pest contractor and want an independent view of the work between audits.
Municipalities
Public health teams that want a specialist on call through the season and a regular review of how the programme is performing.
Pest control operators
Owners and technical managers who want a specialist to escalate to, without adding one to the payroll.
Remote support, wherever you operate
Advisory and Assurance are delivered remotely, so they work the same in any GCC country. Enterprise includes scheduled onsite verification visits, with frequency and covered facilities specified in the proposal. On the other plans, onsite visits are available as separately quoted additions. See Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar, or the full services.
Retainer questions
How quickly do you respond?
We acknowledge every question the same business day and send a technical response within 48 hours.
Is there a minimum term?
Yes. Every plan is a 12-month engagement, billed monthly.
Which tier do we need?
Advisory suits an operation that wants a specialist to call on. Assurance adds a scored quarterly review, contractor KPIs and a trend report. Enterprise is for groups running several sites.
Are site visits included?
Enterprise includes scheduled onsite verification visits, with frequency and covered facilities specified in the proposal. On the other plans, onsite visits are available as separately quoted additions.
Does the retainer replace our pest control contractor?
PVS does not apply pesticides or hold service contracts. The retainer gives you an independent view of your contractor’s work, and your contractor stays in place.
